Who are we ?

About Derpa
A family-run business, bespoke expertise
Since 1956, Derpa has been supporting laboratories, local authorities and educational institutions in the design, manufacture and installation of their technical facilities. Passed down from generation to generation, our family-run business has been built on strong values: a close relationship with our clients, rigour, reliability and innovation.
Today, we have over 30 dedicated staff members who pool their expertise to bring your fit-out projects to life in Belgium, Luxembourg and France.
Our mission :
To design functional, sustainable and tailored spaces
We know that every client, every environment and every use is unique. That is why we place personalised support at the heart of our approach.
Whether you are a research centre, a school, a hospital or an industrial company, we develop bespoke technical solutions, perfectly tailored to your constraints and objectives.

Our hallmark :
A process managed from start to finish
- 1. Analysis & advice
Before making any proposal, we take the time to understand your business, your working practices and your requirements. Our technical advisers carry out a site visit to identify your actual needs and any potential constraints. During this meeting, we discuss the technical, functional and aesthetic aspects with you.
This phase of analysis and understanding enables us to offer you solutions that are truly tailored to your needs, rather than standardised designs.
- 2. Bespoke design
Every laboratory is unique, which is why each project is designed to your specific requirements. Our design team produces detailed plans and visualisations that allow you to visualise your future space even before it is built, and to fine-tune certain details together if necessary.
We work with you to select the materials best suited to your needs (solid laminate, melamine, etc.), as well as the necessary technical equipment (workbenches, fume cupboards, cabinets, etc.).
- 3. Local manufacturing
Our furniture is manufactured in our workshop in Nivelles, where we oversee the entire production process. This local presence enables us to guarantee rigorous quality control at every stage, as well as strictly controlled production lead times.
We work with materials sourced from Belgium (or elsewhere in Europe) that are selected for their quality, and our craftsmanship – honed since 1956 – enables us to meet the most technical requirements whilst maintaining a small-scale, personalised approach to production.
- 4. Installation & commissioning
Once manufacturing is complete, our own teams take charge of the entire on-site installation. These are members of our staff with many years’ experience. We coordinate our work with your schedule and the site’s operational constraints to minimise the impact on your business.
Our technicians ensure that all technical equipment is assembled with precision and care and commissioned correctly.
- 5. Maintenance & scalability
Our support does not end with delivery. We offer maintenance and servicing for our equipment, as well as a responsive after-sales service to ensure your furniture remains up to date and lasts for many years to come. Modifications to your laboratory layout are also possible.
